Dec. 23, 2016 | Portland Business Journal: Congrats to NUNM Helfgott Institute! Helfgott is in the Portland Business Journal’s 2016 “Book of Lists” as a top-ranked Oregon NIH Health Grant Recipient.

March 21, 2016 | The Guardian: NUNM adjunct and senior research investigator Dr. Carolyn Nygaard (’09) discusses the preliminary findings of a Helfgott women’s health study with journalist Leah Messinger: “Are all tampons toxic? No one seems to have the answer.”

March 2, 2016: A Loss to the NUNM Community: Dr. David Howard. It is with profound sadness that I share the news of the sudden passing of David Howard, PhD, a member of the faculty of the School of Research & Graduate Studies, an empathetic and beloved student mentor, a wise teacher, an inveterate aficionado of the arts, a practitioner of loving kindness, a caring friend and father.

June 10, 2015–The National Institutes of Health, through the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH), has awarded $3,092,898 to the Helfgott Research Institute at the National College (now University) of Natural Medicine (NUNM) for two five-year complementary integrative health (CIH) research grants.

Tabatha Parker, ND (’04), co-director at the NUNM’s Master of Science in Global Health program, is appointed to the California Naturopathic Medicine Committee: “San Diego Leader in Alternative Medicine Named to State Panel.”

Heather Zwickey, PhD, Dean of the School of Research and Graduate Studies is interviewed for the NDNR “Voices of Naturopathic Research.”

Natural Medicine Journal, August 2014 NUNM School of Research and Graduate Studies global medicine faculty members Angela Senders, ND (’05), Andrew Erlandsen, ND (’11), and Heather Zwickey, PhD are featured in this month’s issue: “The Importance of Research Literacy: Developing the critical skill of interpreting medical research.”

June 2014 Portland Monthly Health Issue! Twenty National College of Natural Medicine faculty and alumni are listed and featured in Portland Monthly magazine’s mid-year “Health” issue, including School of Research & Graduate Studies Dean Heather Zwickey and instructor Dave Allderdice.

Congratulations to MSIMR/ND student Kirsten Wright! Her research poster, Evidence for Phytochemical Synergism in Classical Chinese Herbal Pairs, won an award at the recent IRCIMH 2014 conference in Miami, Florida!
